My passion for history began early when my parents bought me the multi-volume ‘Pictorial Encyclopedia of American History.’ In school, I pursued humanities and European studies through the Honors College at Portland State University, earning my Bachelor of History in 1998. After “paying the bills” in the music and then pharmaceutical industries, I returned to my roots, completing my Master’s in Public History from American Public University in 2025. The practicum, entitled “Reflections on the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution in Loudoun County, Virginia: an Oral History Project with the Members of the Loudoun 250 Committee” created a primary source about the people and organizations involved in Loudoun’s commemoration of the semiquincentennial of our nation’s founding from a local perspective. This project is accessioned at the Thomas Balch Library in Leesburg and is set to debut in June of 2026.
I have the pleasure of working on local history in Virginia, primarily in Loudoun County. My area of focus is colonial and Revolutionary War eras. Full profile on LinkedIn.
I also love photography and may upload photos that I find interesting.
